Locally owned and operated by the Phillips family, Georgia Internet Link, Inc. originally started as a small accounting service of PBA (Personal & Business Accounting Services) in 1990.
S.L. Phillips, having a background in accounting and corporate and individual tax saw the opportunity to expand into computer related services. At the time, most clients had to depend on two consultants; one for accounting and one for computer related issues.
When the Internet first came to Augusta, GA the Company branched into providing computer and internet related services. "Then the most Internet you could get was a BBS and 9600 baud, if you were lucky." Many business' accounting departments were starting to use the Internet as another means for transmitting transactions between themselves and their Factors/Banks.
Combining over 12 years programming, computer science and accounting experience made for an admirable combination and allowed the company to grow and expand its offerings to National and International markets becoming the incorporated Georgia Internet Link during the first half of 1998.
The Company and Owners pride themselves on honest, dependable and knowledgeable services and products.
Even through times of a nationally and locally troubled economy and personal tragedy with the loss of the owners' eldest son, William in 2001, the Company has continued to function and provide the same level of quality services and products its Clients find indispensable.
Some of the many attributes and achievements of the Company are reflected in S.L. Phillips' awards; GOAL Nominee (Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership), Phi Theta Kappa President and Member, and Technology Achievement Award in 1998.
Georgia Internet Link, Inc. has formed many alliances with such companies as Microsoft, IPSwitch, Binary Research, Transparent Language, 3AM Labs, NewSouth Communications, TransEdge Networks and many others. Requests from a variety of other companies seeking alliances are received on a regular basis but must meet the quality and standards Georgia Internet Link, Inc. has established for its Clients. The Company achieved status as only one of two local providers to be accepted into the Microsoft Early Adopter Program with Windows 2000 Advanced Server 18 months before its official release and was instrumental in providing Microsoft with migration scenarios from Bind DNS and NT 4.0 to Windows 2000 Advanced Server for Web Presence Providers.
Several Clients have referred to GA Link as, "the best kept secret ever" and "an undiscovered treasure." GA Link is very gracious for their enthusiasm and satisfaction with its services and products. The Company's goal is to provide the best possible solution that fits both; Clients' needs, and budgets without overselling or underselling, allowing both to benefit and expand.
